It’s been 86 years since FDR took pen to paper and signed the Cullen-Harrison Act into law, which marked the end of prohibition and led to the ratification of the 21st amendment. And it’s been 10 years since April 7th (the day the law went into effect) was declared National Beer Day. That means, it’s time to celebrate.
Prohibition spanned 13 loooong years in America, but the effects on the beer industry lasted much longer than that. It took decades to return to the number of breweries that existed in the pre-prohibition era. We’ve seen a lot of change over the years. From the rise and popularity of craft breweries, to innovations in brewing techniques, to endless variety and creativity in our beer choices. We are lucky, to be sure. So, when you lift a pint on National Beer Day, remember all of the beer pioneers who came before. And of course, remember to support your local breweries not just on April 7th, but every day!
For our part in honoring this anniversary, we could have popped magnums of beer and called it a day. Instead, we decided the best way to celebrate National Beer Day was by introducing a new finish into our uKeg line-up—so when you go for your festive fill-up, you’re doing it in cutting edge style. The uKeg Matte White is now available in both our 64 and 128.
Why white? White is considered to be the color of perfection—and what is more perfect than cold, fresh craft beverages? White is also the color of new beginnings, just like the Spring season. And, well, we just love how this clean, pristine matte white uKeg looks—and we think you will, too.
